The Very Puzzled Monkey Puzzle Tree

The Very Puzzled Monkey Puzzle Tree was created as part of the Three Rivers District Council's National Lottery Heritage Fund project. It was written by Jess Hodges, former Park Ranger at Leavesden Country Park.

The book celebrates the history of Leavesden Country Park and in particular the wonderful Monkey Puzzle trees there which were the inspiration for the Park’s logo and part of the legacy of the National Lottery Heritage project.

The book tells the story of ‘Martha’, a monkey puzzle tree, and the journey of these trees to the UK. The beautifully written narrative shares with the reader Martha’s many questions about the tree’s name, heritage and their very spiky branches!
